Department of Climate and Disaster Management, Jashore University of Science and Technology has organised the “Final Dissemination Event of the Certificate Program on Climate Change and Intersectionality” as a partner institution of a project ‘Reimagining Disaster Pedagogies: Towards Gender Transformative, Socially Inclusive & Intersectional South Asian Didactics’, part of a global research project ‘GRRIPP’, led by GRRIPP South Asia & University College London in collaboration with the Institute of Disaster Management and Vulnerability Studies, University of Dhaka.

The program is held on 25th July, 2023 in Conference room, Jashore Irrigation Complex,Bangladesh Agricultural Development Corporation (BADC), Chanchra, Jashore, Bangladesh.Professor Dr. Shaibur Rahman Molla, Director, Dr. M. A. Wazed Miah Institute of Advance Studies and Research, JUST was present as chief guest of the program. Besides, Professor, Dr. Md. Nazmul Hasan, Director Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), JUST and Md. Abdulla Al Rashid, Superintending Engineer, BADC, Jashore were attended as special guests.

In this event, around 26 participants from different background such as graduate students, NGO and INGO personnel and civil society person attended to receive their certificate for completing the Certificate Program on 'Climate Change and Intersectionality'. Earlier this program had covered different issues related to climate change and adaptation, disaster risk reduction and sustainability, gender and intersectionality, governance, etc. Resource persons from national and international level have been conducted the 8 days long course. The program has been conducted through hybrid mode. A day long field visit has also been accommodated to enrich the knowledge and concept of participants.

In the Final Dissemination Event participants shared their learning, thoughts and experience in group wise. Chief guest Professor Dr. Shaibur Rahman Molla said, there has a huge opportunity for the students in research sector as well as job sector with collaborating NGO and INGO activities. Professor, Dr. Md. Nazmul Hasan said, ''To enhance the quality of academic curriculum this kind of program can help a lot and I thank CDM department for organizing this one''. Another special guest Md. Abdulla Al Rashid added that he would be grateful to Jashore University of Science and Technology and is ready for granting any research opportunities for the varsity. The whole program was facilitated by Nafisa Nuari Islam, Assistant Professor, Department of Climate and Disaster Management, JUST. One representative from GRRIPP South Asia & two from the Institute of Disaster Management and Vulnerability Studies, University of Dhaka were also present the program.

Dr. Mohammad Mahfuzur Rahman Chairman, Department of Climate and Disaster Management, JUST chaired the program where Hassan Md. Naveed Anzum, Md. Arif Chowdhury and Muhammad Abu Sayed, faculty of CDM department were present. In closing remarks he is pleased for organizing this kind of program and thanked all the participants who came from different background and places.
