CDM students Attended the 7th UIU-ICSD International Conference on Sustainable Development - Towards a Resilient Future organised by United International University

Department of Climate and Disaster Management (CDM) has attended the 7th UIU-ICSD International Conference on Sustainable Development - Towards a Resilient Future which is organised by United International University from 19th to 20th February 2024.



Including one faculty member and five students of CDM department participated in this conference. They presented their collaborative research work under the different themes in conference. Md. Rifat Hossain, 3rd year student presented an article titled "Climate Change Induced Vulnerability and Adaptation: Perception of Local Communities Regarding Health in Tala Upazila of Satkhira District, Bangladesh'’ under Climate Action theme. The article is a combine work of Md. Rifat Hossain, Md. Sojib Molla and Md. Arif Choudhury.



Nishat Otosy Islam, 4th year student of CDM has presented a research article on “Status of Climate Change Adaptation of Flower Cultivation in Godkhali, Jashore”. Presenter herself with Md. Arif Chowdhury, Shadia Akhter and Sabbir Hossain are authors of this article.



Another student from 4th year, Sabbir Hossain attended with his project title: "Vulnerabilities and Adaptation of Fisherman Communities: Perspective of Migrants in Mongla, Bagerhat, Bangladesh" under the theme "Inclusive Development and Sustainable Livelihoods".


And the faculty member of CDM department, Md.  Arif Chowdhury presented a research article on "Adaptation of Internally Displaced People: Impacts of Climate Change in Satkhira, Bangladesh".


The two day 7th UIU-ICSD International Conference on Sustainable Development has been completed with successfully. All the participants specially the students of CDM department enjoy and collaborate with researcher of different background and achieve tremendous knowledge, experience and research environment.
